March lights

30th October 2012

The Hanatouro light-up in the eastern hills was one of the first things I saw in Kyoto more than six years ago. I still go back, finding something new each time I do or something old that looks new from a different angle.

Yasaka no To, a 15th century pagoda that has become an icon for the Higashiyama area.

About 2,500 lanterns line the paths of the Hanatouro - the Flower Lamp Road - in March.

A slight change in position and the flower changes.
